G.A Group has unveiled the design of Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, a hotel project that artfully balances centuries of history with contemporary luxury. Nestled on the edge of Lake Fuschl in the Austrian Alps, the former 15th-century hunting lodge has been transformed into a refined retreat that honours its storied past while offering an immersive and modern guest experience.

G.A Group drew deeply from Austrian cultural heritage and the natural beauty surrounding the castle to inform every design decision. Inspired by the seasonal colours of the lake, the interiors feature tones of opal and green that reflect the ever-changing alpine landscape, bringing a tranquil sense of place indoors. Throughout the hotel, materials and motifs evoke local traditions. Public area carpets are inspired by native wildflowers, while guestroom carpets reinterpret the Dindel, a traditional Salzburg clothing pattern. Upholstery and curtains make use of regional fabrics such as felt, loden and burlap, giving each space authenticity and texture.

The guest experience is further enhanced through the integration of wellness traditions, including an outdoor infinity pool that extends into the forest, offering the feeling of swimming through nature. At the Asaya Spa, a winter garden terrace connects guests to the outdoors year-round with sliding glass panels that adapt to the seasons.

In keeping with the building’s legacy, the extensive historic art collection plays a central role in the design. The lobby lounge features a dramatic display of antlers alongside a curated selection of artworks. G.A Group also collaborated with Austrian hand-painter Marie Hartig, whose bespoke depictions of the lake appear throughout the hotel, from the bar to the custom minibars in guest rooms.

The result is a richly layered, emotionally resonant environment where heritage, design, and nature converge in a seamless hospitality experience.
