Amaseena at The Ritz-Carlton, JBR is a reimagined beachfront dining venue in Dubai, redesigned by DZ Design as a contemporary Arabic restaurant that honours Bedouin hospitality while aligning with the Ritz-Carlton’s luxury identity. Open exclusively for dinner, the night-only concept required a mood-driven, immersive design that would come alive after sunset.

DZ Design approached the brief with a strong narrative focus, capturing the essence of Arabian nights through texture, materiality, and lighting. The design studio used natural terracotta tiles, desert-toned fabrics, brass accents, Persian rugs, and mosaic tiling to create a tactile, culturally rich environment. Custom-made tent canopies and handcrafted furniture added depth and authenticity, while all materials were chosen for their durability in the coastal climate.

Lighting was central to DZ Design’s vision, not only for ambience but as a guiding element throughout the space. Soft LED strips under palm trees, Arabic lanterns, and diffused uplighting were strategically placed to enhance intimacy, spatial rhythm, and emotional connection. The curated lighting scheme, set at 2700K, was designed to bring textures and colours to life as the evening progressed.

The layout flows seamlessly from communal areas to private cabanas, allowing for both family-friendly dining and intimate gatherings. The beachfront setting is embraced through open-air structures and a palette that reflects the tones of the desert and sea. DZ Design’s work is both emotionally intelligent and operationally refined, blending tradition with modern elegance. The result is a sensorial dining experience rooted in context, crafted with care, and deeply atmospheric.
