The iconic Fairmont Breakers Long Beach has been thoughtfully reimagined by RVD Associates in collaboration with HBA San Francisco, marking a new chapter in the legacy of this 1926 Southern California landmark. Located in the heart of Downtown Long Beach, the 185-room hotel has undergone a meticulous restoration led by developer Pacific6 Enterprises, with Eden For Your World contributing to the holistic design vision. The result is a seamless blend of timeless architectural grandeur and contemporary luxury, redefining the city’s hospitality landscape.

The design pays tribute to the original Renaissance Revival architecture by Walker & Eisen. The full-block façade has been carefully restored with replicated storefronts and period-specific windows that reintroduce the building’s interwar-era charm. Sealed transoms and window bays, once closed for seismic reasons, have been reopened, inviting streams of natural light into the interiors and reinvigorating the building’s historic core.

Inside, the grand lobby evokes the elegance of the Roaring Twenties. Poetic symmetry, muted color palettes, and restored original elements—such as plaster moldings and ceiling heights—create a refined backdrop. Rich materials, including polished marble floors, plush sculptural furnishings, and carefully curated artwork, add layers of tactile sophistication.

The reception area, framed by bronze-mirrored screens, features a dazzling desk that anchors the space and signals the luxury experience to come. Throughout, RVD Associates and HBA San Francisco have masterfully balanced reverence for historic detail with modern refinement, transforming Fairmont Breakers Long Beach into a destination that celebrates heritage while embracing the future of luxury hospitality.
