Trivet, Auckland’s newest all-day bistro and bar, is where multicultural Aotearoa meets elevated dining — brought to life by the vision and expertise of O37 Design Pte Ltd. Located within the newly refurbished JW Marriott in downtown Auckland, showcasing organic textures with contemporary forms to create warm, welcoming spaces.

Inspired by Aotearoa’s natural landscapes, the interior features an earthy palette of greens, neutrals and warm tones, connecting diners with the land and fostering a sense of belonging. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, while seating is thoughtfully arranged to offer guests a choice of views — from the lively street-side landscaping to the show kitchen’s controlled glimpses of the chefs at work.

Tasked with transforming a rundown Thai restaurant into a vibrant, flexible dining destination, O37 Design navigated significant site constraints and local council regulations. The team overcame challenges including fixed structural elements and the requirement for dual entrances — from both the hotel lobby and the street. Clever design solutions, such as garage-style fluted glass doors, ensure adaptability, allowing the space to transition effortlessly throughout the day.

Collaboration was at the heart of the project. O37 Design worked closely with local artisans to source materials like timber wall panels, mosaics and fluted glass, supporting the community while embedding authenticity into every detail. Partnering with the hotel team also ensured operational functionality without compromising the aesthetic vision.

Trivet now stands as a testament to O37 Design’s creative mastery — a must-visit for those seeking Auckland’s finest dining experience.
