Wallace Johnson Studio has brought to life a refined vision for the Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar. The interior captures the spirit of a modern brasserie while embracing the warmth and familiarity of an upscale neighborhood bistro. Designed to be simultaneously inviting and energetic, the space is bright, open, and thoughtfully detailed.

The design employs a carefully curated oceanic palette, enriched with terra cotta floor tiles and complemented by warm woods and natural browns. These elements establish a sense of grounded comfort while echoing the coastal inspiration behind the project. Wood wall paneling adds subtle texture, while strategically placed mirrors provide depth and visual interest.

At the heart of the dining room lies a striking horseshoe-shaped bar, a raw bar serving fresh shellfish and acting as the true focal point of the space. While not centrally located, the bar defines the restaurant’s energy, supported by tall ceilings that enhance its brightness by day and create a dramatic backdrop by night. Comfortable booths line the perimeter, ensuring a balance of intimacy and vibrancy.

The scheme is enriched with nautical details and elegant artwork, including a large commissioned piece depicting the owner’s South African hometown, from which the restaurant takes its name. Subtle Art Deco references in the lighting enhance the sophistication of the atmosphere, ensuring a chic yet relaxed ambiance. Even the restrooms carry the design language, with whimsical wallpaper and bespoke details such as a custom surfboard and framed print of Ernest Hemingway, adding charm without excess.

With this project, Wallace Johnson Studio has delivered a timeless brasserie aesthetic that resonates with both local character and international elegance, creating a venue that is as welcoming as it is stylish.
