Theresa Obermoser Design has unveiled a distinctive new cocktail bar in Vienna, presenting a richly layered interior that redefines the contemporary nightlife experience. Conceived as more than a single hospitality space, Theresa Obermoser Design approached the project as a spatial narrative, crafting an environment that unfolds gradually and invites exploration.

Working within a compact footprint of approximately 130 square metres, Theresa Obermoser Design rejected a conventional open plan in favour of a sequence of interconnected rooms. Each space carries its own atmosphere, encouraging movement and discovery while maintaining a cohesive identity. This approach allows the bar to support a variety of experiences, from intimate conversations to more social gatherings, all within a carefully controlled spatial framework.

Materiality plays a central role in the project, with Theresa Obermoser Design layering stone, velvet, timber, wallpaper and warm metallic finishes to create depth and richness. The design embraces contrast, allowing each element to stand independently while contributing to a unified composition. Custom furniture and bespoke joinery were developed to ensure consistency in proportion and comfort throughout.

Lighting is used with precision, shaping mood and guiding the experience as the evening progresses. Rather than revealing itself immediately, the interior evolves over time, offering a nuanced and immersive atmosphere that feels both intimate and dynamic. Theresa Obermoser Design balanced this expressive approach with a clear sense of cohesion, ensuring the space remains engaging without becoming overwhelming.

Responding to its central Viennese setting, Theresa Obermoser Design worked sensitively within the existing building fabric, creating a subtle transition from the city outside to a more enclosed and atmospheric interior. The result is a cocktail bar that feels both distinctive and timeless, defined by craftsmanship, spatial clarity and a carefully orchestrated sensory experience.
