Maison Barrière Vendôme is a five-star boutique hotel just steps from Place Vendôme, transformed by Daniel Jibert Architecture into a refined haven of Parisian elegance. The project centred on creating 26 rooms and suites, each uniquely designed to honour 27 exceptional women connected to the history of Paris. With rooms averaging only 30 square metres, the challenge was to maximise comfort and elegance within intimate proportions. Each space was envisioned as exclusive and distinctive, reflecting the personalities of the icons through curated artworks, motifs, and storytelling details.

Daniel Jibert immersed himself in period archives and photography to capture the essence of these women. True to his style, he combined bold colours, rich textures, and eclectic design influences to create atmospheres that balance history with contemporary expression. This creative approach transformed each room into a self-contained world, while maintaining cohesion across the hotel.

The interiors showcase the finest expressions of French craftsmanship. Jibert collaborated with prestigious artisans, incorporating Pierre Frey fabrics, crystal sconces from Baguès, Lalique pieces, and Sicis mosaic details. Hand-painted wallpapers and ornamentation by Atelier de Ricou echo the textiles, while bespoke joinery, luxurious fabrics, and artisanal finishes highlight the building’s heritage.

A central feature is the bar-restaurant, inspired by Frida Kahlo. Here, sculptor Clémentine de Chabaneix’s monumental bronze door welcomes guests into a vibrant setting with exotic woodwork by Thierry Martenon and Murano glass fixtures by Aristide Najean. Every detail reflects Jibert’s vision of Parisian elegance, where past and present coexist seamlessly.
