Bergman Design House has unveiled Maison Devoille, an elegant patisserie and champagne bar glowing softly from the first floor lobby of One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai. Conceived as a refined architectural jewel, the project reflects Bergman Design House’s ability to translate emotion, storytelling and craftsmanship into a richly immersive interior experience.

Born from the imagination of celebrated pastry chef Christophe Devoille, Maison Devoille pays tribute to the sweet nostalgia of Paris’ Golden Age. Bergman Design House interpreted this narrative as a contemporary homage to 1920s Paris and the era of Art Deco, reimagined through a modern lens suited to Dubai’s cosmopolitan setting. The studio approached the space as a sensorial journey where quiet glamour, indulgence and ritual come together seamlessly.

At the heart of the design is a sculptural arched framework that defines the space and frames the pastry counter as both stage and showcase. Rich, tactile materials including veined marble, textured bronze, warm metals and soft upholstery establish a layered palette that feels opulent yet welcoming. Bergman Design House carefully balanced intimacy and openness, ensuring the space feels luxurious without losing its warmth.

A bespoke suspended installation of delicate glass spheres animates the vertical volume, introducing lightness, movement and a sense of visual poetry that echoes the whimsical joy of confectionery. The champagne bar acts as a social anchor, encouraging guests to linger and transforming a simple café visit into an elevated lifestyle moment.

Every detail was meticulously considered by Bergman Design House, from the rhythm of shelving and display to the choreography of light and space. The result is an interior that feels timeless yet contemporary, harmonising with the architectural language of One&Only One Za’abeel while maintaining a distinct and memorable identity of its own.
