The iconic PUR restaurant at Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme has undergone a striking transformation led by artist-architect Hugo Toro, whose visionary design redefines the space with elegance and personality. Collaborating with Michelin-starred Chef Jean-François Rouquette, Toro created an environment that reflects the Chef’s character while enhancing the connection between the kitchen and its guests. The spatial flow allows the chef to interact naturally with diners, hosting as if at home.

Inspired by the ensemble designers of the 1930s, Toro approached the project as if crafting a private residence. Every element, from the architecture to the smallest tabletop detail, was conceived to evoke intimacy and refinement. He designed each object specifically for PUR, including the napkin rings, single-flower vases, knife rests, butter dishes, and knives, as well as the candles that theatrically mark the beginning and end of dinner.

Through his creative direction, Toro shaped a new global identity for the restaurant, one that complements Rouquette’s cuisine while celebrating French craftsmanship and artistry. The resulting space harmonises form and function, where every texture, curve, and object contributes to an immersive dining experience.

PUR emerges not merely as a fine dining destination but as a complete expression of contemporary French luxury. Toro’s design encapsulates a dialogue between tradition and innovation, elevating the spirit of Place Vendôme and setting a new standard for design-led gastronomy in Paris.
