Studio Indigo has unveiled the Mayfair Penthouse at Mandarin Oriental Mayfair, delivering a four bedroom residence that blends British heritage, refined modernity and sweeping views across London’s skyline. Conceived as the crowning jewel of the hotel, Studio Indigo designed the 5,000 square foot penthouse as an exclusive retreat equally suited to lively entertaining and quiet retreat.

Studio Indigo approached the project with a brief to capture the artistic and cultural spirit of Mayfair while subtly referencing the global heritage of Mandarin Oriental. The result is a layered interior that celebrates craftsmanship and modern luxury while remaining deeply connected to its London setting.

Expansive open plan living spaces form the heart of the penthouse, carefully arranged to maximise uninterrupted 180 degree views of the city. A spectacular private terrace extends the living environment outdoors, allowing the skyline to become an ever present backdrop. Within the main living area, Studio Indigo introduced bespoke organically shaped sofas that anchor the room and flow naturally into the dining space, creating a layout designed for fluid movement and effortless social gatherings.

Craftsmanship is central to Studio Indigo’s vision. Bespoke joinery, furniture and detailing showcase traditional British artisanship layered with contemporary design. Fromental’s hand painted Bucolic panoramic wallpaper offers a romantic interpretation of the English countryside, rendered in a nineteenth century style that brings warmth and narrative depth to the principal living areas. Above, a Sans Souci chandelier in soft amber and white tones introduces a playful focal point.

Across the four bedrooms, Studio Indigo developed more intimate expressions of the concept, incorporating subtle oriental references that acknowledge Mandarin Oriental’s heritage. Impressionist artworks and rich materials complete a residence defined by understated luxury and timeless character.
