Silks Restaurant, located in the Crown Metropol Hotel in Perth, Australia is 8000 sq feet with 240 seats, including a sky-lit sunken dining area, semi-private dining areas, 5 private dining rooms on two levels and a custom wine room.

With a menu based on traditional Cantonese cuisine but specialising in fresh produce from Western Australia, the goal was to create a space with the regal elegance befitting of the Silks brand, while bringing a fresh and contemporary approach to the interiors. The oval main dining room features an intricate back-lit feature ceiling, hand-painted with traditional Chinoiserie patterns in parchment, ivory and gold, but the main event is a collection of dramatically scaled, custom vases, using traditional Chinese designs commissioned in sparkling Italian glass mosaic tiles. Chinese lanterns are reinterpreted in blown glass and suspended with red silk braided cords and tassels. Silk clad walls are framed with traditional timber lattice panels and a sunken dining area features a custom fitted glass sky-light and hand-painted, gilded wallpaper. Private dining rooms are accessed by a grand marble stair with a timber lattice railing in a double story foyer clad in stacked slate and bronze mirror panels.
