For years, Club Med scouted the Caribbean in search of a new, unspoiled paradise to be the home of its first Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas. Club Med Michès Playa Esmeralda is a 93 acre resort in an unparalleled, eco-chic property, featuring four boutique villages designed for families, romantics, adventurers and wellness seekers alike. Each of the four boutique villages presents its own unique environment, activities and accommodations. The villages include Archipelago, Caribbean Paradise, Emerald Jungle and Explorer Cove.

The resort is located in the new rare pearl of the Dominican Republic: Michès, a preserved place of virginal beauty. Michès is a protected ecological paradise located in a lush Dominican palm grove. Exclusive Collection resorts are characterised by their premium accommodations, exceptional hospitality and personalised services, exclusively beautiful locations around the world, refined dining concepts and lounges, transformational experiences, and unique architecture and design elements.

FIG were selected to rise to the huge challenge of interior designing every single area of the resort, including all guest rooms, all four themes, all restaurants each with its own narrative, several unique bars, multiple wine cellars, a coffee house, a variety of retail stores, the spa, and all outdoor areas.

FIG’s design is luxurious but in an eco-chic way. It is colourful and has a Caribbean feeling while also fitting into the Club Med brand. The ‘eco-chic’ haven atmosphere of the resort not only comes from the spectacular surroundings but the look and feel of the interiors all harmonising with the architecture, landscaping and lighting.
