G.A Group & Studio Moren has unveiled their latest project, the 1 Hotel Mayfair, a groundbreaking endeavor that redefines luxury through a lens of sustainability in the heart of London’s prestigious Mayfair district.

Responding to the creative challenge of merging sustainability and luxury, the 1 Hotel Mayfair stands as a beacon of eco-conscious design in an esteemed landscape. Situated opposite Green Park, the hotel underwent a partial refurbishment, prioritizing sustainability and minimizing carbon emissions while reimagining the space.

Collaborating closely with skilled artisans and creators, Studio Moren & G.A Group crafted an environment that seamlessly blends comfort, serenity, and a refined aesthetic. Every aspect, from materials to layout, reflects a commitment to sustainability and meticulous attention to detail.

At the heart of the design philosophy lies authenticity and sustainability, honouring Mayfair’s heritage while infusing it with a contemporary, tranquil atmosphere. The lobby, designed to create a calming arrival experience, features bespoke bronze doors and raw-edged stone fins that extend to the ceiling, concealing the original guest lifts’ location.

The reception area seamlessly flows into Neighbours Café, offering a buzzing daytime ambiance with light snacks and barista coffee. In the evening, sliding rattan panels open up to display Aperitivo spirits, adding to the hotel’s understated luxury concept.

The hotel’s design showcases impactful first impressions, inviting guests to journey beneath a verdant ‘canopy’ with changing seasonal planting. Dry stone walls, crafted from reclaimed stone walls from Yorkshire, celebrate British heritage, while the feature reception desk, made from a solid tree trunk from the Balcombe Estate in Sussex, symbolizes the hotel’s commitment to sustainability.

Throughout the ground floor spaces, guests encounter moments of wonder, from commissioned artworks by Steve McPherson to views into the Dover Yard Bar, encouraging exploration and discovery.
