Tell us a little about your background in design:
I co-founded Fettle in 2015 with Tom Parker. Prior to Fettle, I was an Associate at Martin Brudnizki Design Studio in London. I graduated with a degree in Interior Architecture and Design from Nottingham Trent University in 2008.

How would you describe your personal design style?:
Classically inspired with a contemporary twist. Eclectic.

Where does your design inspiration come from?:
As a studio our inspiration comes from a diverse range of sources, with a strong focus on the locality, history, and narrative of each specific project site.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?:
Design will continue to move towards creating spaces that focus on experience and memory – more human, tactile and personal. At present we are also seeing lots of spaces that have a soft modernist edge to them which is really exciting.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to designing, what would it be?:
Trust in yourself and your instincts.
