Hali MacDonald Interiors Inc. have been shortlisted for Bedroom Award in The International Design and Architecture Awards 2021.

Hali MacDonald Interiors has a main goal of creating comfort and warmth in her Burgundy Project residence. The vision was to create an old world feel with light tones, traditional elements, and natural influences, all combined with their complementary opposites to fill the house with intrigue. Each room has its own personality, but all spaces still blend seamlessly together. Hali MacDonald Interiors chose to walk the line between styles – mixing new pieces with antiques, traditional with modern, bright whites with colours, pattern and texture – to make these spaces feel special and more interesting to the eye.

Hali holds the belief that design, colour, and lighting all have tremendous ability to impact our moods and everyday life. The design for the bedroom, and the property as a whole, is focussed on being inviting, approachable, and lived-in. Though the home is a new build, she was determined to give the property the warmth that she feels within older homes. She considers having a comforting and beautiful home to call your own is of utmost importance.

The master bedroom follows the scheme of the home, with it’s blending of styles and personalities. Hali’s love of antiques is paired with sleek modern design for a balanced and harmonious interior design which allows each of these elements to shine brighter. It is a design with casual elegance and beauty in the details. As a lover of the outdoors, Hali MacDonald Interiors draws a lot of inspiration from nature and elements in their natural state. A calming neutral palette is deepened with tones taken from naturescapes such as blues, greens, and sunset golds.

With serenity leading the design, the master space consists of bedroom, sitting area, ensuite and walk-in closet. The complexity of her layered materials, textures, and colours translates to comfort. Clean neutrals provide a base for crystal accents, natural materials are complemented by metallic touches, straight lines and angles are paired with softly curved pieces. The beauty of this space is in Hali MacDonald Interiors’ details, where the understated opulence makes this space perfect for rest.
