Langley Estate, a bespoke home designed by ZED Studio Inc, emanates the clients’ sophisticated lifestyle, worldly travels, and passions through an original and understated design approach.

ZED Studio Inc’s skillful balance of architectural expression, materials, and functionality is crucial in crafting a stunning and cohesive home that authentically captures the clients’ unique tastes and preferences. From the street, the home appears unassuming, but upon closer inspection, it gradually reveals itself as a masterpiece, showcasing the thoughtful design and attention to detail. Despite its impressive size, the home is energy-efficient and designed to accommodate future solar power installations, demonstrating the designer’s commitment to building to a higher standard.

Effective relational design is critical to the success of this project, with each room taking inspiration from a functional art piece such as custom mosaic tiles, bespoke slabs of stone, and unique lighting installations. These design choices speak to the client’s appreciation for the arts. One standout element is the large room dividing peninsula fireplace, seamlessly integrated into the sundial shard design, which plays as a feature throughout the home. This serves as a bold and memorable centerpiece of the home, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests as they arrive.

The designer’s focus on removing hallways and creating transitory spaces allows the home to flow naturally and encourages connection with nature through the built environment. The extensive use of light and generous outdoor living spaces provides a sense of comfort and relaxation.

The project requires extensive skill and craftsmanship, especially in the creation of the Bocci light functional art installation, the sculpting of a concrete diving rock, and the stamping of the driveway with the client’s insignia. The designer’s attention to detail, combined with the use of high-quality materials and energy-efficient systems, ensures the home is built to the highest standards.
