Tell us a little about your background in design:
Anas has been working in the field of interior and architecture design since 2005, he has worked on residential and commercial projects in different scales and budgets all around the Middle east, Dubai and Europe. He established WITHIN175 in 2011.

How would you describe your personal design style?
I always try to combine luxury and comfort with functionality and nature.

Where does your design inspiration come from?
Human beings and nature.

In what direction do you feel that design is moving towards in a general sense?
Sustainability, it is a very important direction to take. I believe design is the most important element that will shape our future, with our understanding of the challenges we are facing on our planet and how every single step we take will affect the future generations. We are learning how to appreciate nature more and more by knowing that our existence depends on it, hopefully we will act fast before its too late.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching design in 2022 and beyond.
I don’t believe there is a specific theme for neither architecture nor the interior design scheme, each project is there to deliver a story, reflect a character and a certain energy, and serve its purpose by being functional and unique. Design should have a purpose, that’s how we develop and we elevate. The most important thing is to achieve sustainability by using organic and natural materials and integrating the latest technology and AI. This is how we serve humanity, recharge our energy and enjoy our lives.

If you could offer one piece of advice when it comes to design schemes, what would it be?
Let your design serve a purpose, a design with a purpose ages timelessly.

How important are The International Design & Architecture Awards?
Its an important award in my opinion that gives a lovely opportunity for architects and designers to show proudly their work and explore other projects taking place around the world.

What projects are you currently working on?
Residential projects in the Middle East, high end residential Villas and commercial spaces in Dubai, and a very special fine dining restaurant and lounge in Dubai.

What was your favourite project to work on and why?
For m, every project is unique and important, as each project has its own challenges and superb results.

What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
A residential project Dubai a duplex townhouse, transforming it from 2 small bedrooms to 3 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. Structural changes were made to achieve the final vision and concept we had, and what a satisfaction that was when we delivered this unique project.

Which products/services could you not live without when designing? AutoCad, measuring device, a pencil and Music.

What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
To keep delivering unique projects that serve humanity and our future, develop and learn more and more by loving what I do, and maintaining our recognisable reputation in the region and globally.

Your most treasured possession?
Health and Peace of mind. That’s what keeps us evolving and
achieve our dreams.

Your favourite holiday destination?
Greece, Italy

Your favourite food and drink?
I appreciate great food so every cuisine has something to make the
day special, for drinks it’s beer (lager and Guinness ) and red wine especially the Puglia region Barolo.

Your favourite way to spend an afternoon?
In a park or garden or on a beach.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you be?
A singer or a Chef.
