Isla James Interiors has completed a comprehensive transformation of a family residence set within 1.5 acres on the exclusive Wentworth Estate. The project reimagines a dated property into a bright and welcoming home that blends contemporary comfort with the character of a traditional British country house.

When Isla James Interiors first visited the property, the entrance hall felt uninviting, lacking storage and opening onto a dark corridor dominated by a heavy timber staircase. Low ceilings and dated finishes created a stark contrast with the impressive scale of the house. The clients asked Isla James Interiors to modernise the interior while preserving the warmth and familiarity associated with a classic country home.

The design also reflects the family’s passion for golf and the home’s proximity to the nearby course. Isla James Interiors introduced a dedicated golf simulator within the games room, connected to the main house through a glazed walkway. A bespoke golf boot room with personalised cubbies provides organised storage for equipment and accessories.

Throughout the home, Isla James Interiors crafted distinct yet cohesive spaces including a gentleman’s club inspired study, a sophisticated home bar and open plan entertaining areas. Together these elements create a refined yet relaxed family environment designed for both everyday living and social gatherings.
