Interior Designer: Massari Design

Shipyard: Golden Yachts

Massari Design, in collaboration with Golden Yachts, has completed a remarkable superyacht project named MY “Project X”. The 88m (288’9 feet) and 2973 GT superyacht boasts exceptional external lines that are complemented by an equally impressive interior design.

Massari Design developed the interior of the yacht based on the initial briefing, providing its own vision and interpretation of a contemporary European style that is both elegant and sophisticated. The color palette mainly consists of shades of white, tobacco, and dark brown. One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the owner’s request to diversify and characterize each environment in a unique way to provide a surprise effect for guests and enhance their sailing experience. The layout is designed to give guests the perception of a “home away from home” while providing a satisfying and unique experience.

The lighting of the rooms is carefully planned, starting from discreetly illuminated rooms through lighting fixtures with a hidden light source to real moments where light becomes a design element that interacts with the surrounding space. The yacht features large external windows that illuminate the adjacent rooms and atria, especially on the port side of the ship, where an opening has been created on the ceilings that involve three levels and through glass parapets that allow a view of the sea.

On board, 12 guests are accommodated in 9 suites, including a master suite with a private outdoor area, a VIP cabin, and 7 guest cabins. The cabins feature custom-designed floors, and the office, bathroom, and corridor floors are made of marble. The yacht also includes a private office with a desk and meeting table, and the captain’s cabin is located on the bridge deck.

The gym is located on the sun deck and can also count on outdoor spaces with a bar counter, free exercise area, sunbathing area, and Jacuzzi. An external staircase connects the sundeck to the owner’s deck, whose outdoor area includes a breakfast area, sunbathing area, lounge area, and Jacuzzi. The same external staircase then continues down to the upper deck, where there is a spectacular round table with an innovative design and integrated lazy susan that can seat up to 16 people.

The external area of the main deck features a counter designed and conceived to depart from the usual bar concept, and the deck easily lends itself to dual needs by being able to accommodate both lounge seating and sun loungers. The large swimming pool serving the main deck maintains its lightness through the steel and glass structure that allows a glimpse of the beach club area below. This area is intended for services such as a sauna, hammam, massage, and beauty/hairdressing salon. The two folding hatches extend the walkable surface of the area, allowing the Petruzzini to be lowered into the water, while the central focus of this space is a two-part structure that includes a sofa and slats that act as architectural backdrops.

The collaboration between Massari Design & Golden Yachts has produced an exceptional superyacht that is not only visually stunning but also provides a unique and memorable experience for its guests. The yacht’s design philosophy is perfectly executed, with almost all the furnishing elements completely customized to integrate perfectly with the environment.
