John Lewis of Hungerford

John Lewis of Hungerford has unveiled a bespoke kitchen project that seamlessly blends everyday practicality with refined luxury, reflecting the company’s commitment to delivering spaces that feel both personal and deeply functional. The clients sought a kitchen that would serve as the heart of their home, equally suited to relaxed family living and hosting gatherings ranging from intimate suppers to festive celebrations. Central to their vision was a generous island, an essential element that John Lewis of Hungerford integrated as the natural hub for cooking and socialising.

The homeowners chose John Lewis of Hungerford for the opportunity to create a kitchen that felt entirely their own, from the cabinetry colour to the layout and finishing touches. The design team worked closely with them to ensure every detail supported a warm, welcoming and liveable environment. The bespoke Shaker cabinetry forms the foundation of the scheme, setting the tone for a space that is elegant yet approachable.

Two standout features define the kitchen. The first is an exquisite bar area with a vintage mirrored splash back that adds depth and glamour. The second is the custom-finished island, which brings warmth, texture and functionality, housing the hob to facilitate sociable cooking. The carefully balanced layout makes the kitchen intuitive to navigate, ensuring the space works beautifully for both everyday routines and entertaining.

Colour also plays a vital role. While pale pink forms the base palette, it is elevated by the richly veined splash back and the island’s bespoke finish, transforming what could have felt playful into something sophisticated and polished. Positioned beside the garden and framed by striking Crittall doors, the kitchen extends effortlessly into the outdoors, creating a perfect setting for al fresco dining during warmer months and demonstrating John Lewis of Hungerford’s mastery in designing spaces that enrich daily life.
