KA DesignWorks has unveiled the Starwood Residence, a contemporary mountain home in Aspen that places wellness, recreation and a strong connection to the surrounding alpine landscape at the heart of everyday living. Set on a 6.5 acre site within the exclusive Starwood enclave, the residence has been carefully designed to integrate resort inspired amenities into a comfortable and highly functional family home.

The International Design & Architecture Awards 2026
From the outset, KA DesignWorks sought to create a residence where wellness would be an essential part of daily life rather than a collection of standalone luxury features. The design seamlessly combines architecture, landscape and lifestyle, allowing every space to support relaxation, movement and year round enjoyment while maintaining a close relationship with the spectacular mountain setting.
A defining feature of the project is the effortless connection between the indoor wellness facilities and the outdoor pool environment. The indoor cabana opens directly onto the pool and hot tub terrace, creating a natural flow between interior and exterior spaces while capturing abundant natural light and panoramic mountain views. Beyond this, KA DesignWorks has incorporated a comprehensive private wellness retreat featuring a massage room, infrared sauna, steam room, cold plunge and an exercise room that also opens directly onto the pool deck.
Every aspect of the layout has been carefully planned to encourage an intuitive daily rhythm. Residents can move naturally from a morning workout overlooking the landscape to the sauna or cold plunge before stepping outside into the fresh mountain air. Throughout the day, generous outdoor lounge areas, dining spaces and fire features provide welcoming places for relaxation, entertaining and enjoying the changing seasons.
KA DesignWorks reinforced this experience through a consistent palette of warm natural materials, expansive glazing and carefully aligned sightlines that strengthen the relationship between the home and its surroundings.
