Ledbury Studio interpreted the concept of a living interior through the creation of a bespoke kitchen fabricated from solid panels of specially produced verdigris copper. Recognising the client’s admiration for the evolving character of copper, the studio developed a unique hand patinated finish that required many months of refinement before achieving the desired result. The finished surface provides both visual drama and the durability needed for everyday kitchen use.
Positioned beneath a soaring double height atrium filled with sculpture and artworks, the kitchen embraces a deliberately restrained design. With a commercial stainless steel kitchen concealed behind it, Ledbury Studio ensured the copper remained the unmistakable focal point. Extensive storage was carefully integrated beneath the staircase using plain painted cabinetry that complements rather than competes with the statement material. The result is a kitchen so sleek it reads as contemporary furniture, allowing it to blend effortlessly into the wider architectural setting.
