Lily De Asa Studios

Lily De Asa Studios has completed an 8,000 square foot mountain residence that merges contemporary architecture with a deeply personal and globally inspired interior narrative. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Mt. Sopris, the new build has been carefully designed to frame expansive views while reflecting the eclectic character of its owners.

Lily De Asa Studios approached the project with a focus on materiality, colour and cultural expression. Drawing on African influences and desert inspired tones, the interiors feature layered textures including woven leather, mohair and richly hued fabrics. These are balanced with modern elements such as dark slab cabinetry, patinated metals and bronze glass, creating a dialogue between contemporary design and artisanal detail.

The home is organised around sightlines to the mountain, with each space oriented to capture shifting views. The kitchen, positioned between two ridge points, remains intentionally understated, allowing the landscape to take precedence. This sense of connection continues through the use of natural materials, with stone and timber extending from exterior to interior to reinforce a seamless relationship with the surroundings.

Within the living areas, Lily De Asa Studios introduced an art gallery wall to display the client’s extensive collection, creating a rotating exhibition that connects key spaces. The dining area juxtaposes sculptural high gloss chairs with an antique chandelier, while the primary suite offers a softer contrast, featuring lilac tones, an Armani upholstered headboard and a spa like bathroom with fluted marble and lacquered finishes.

Throughout the home, Lily De Asa Studios balances bold expression with a strong sense of place. Expansive glazing dissolves boundaries between inside and out, while a curated mix of global influences and natural materials ensures the residence feels both grounded and distinctive, shaped by landscape, lifestyle and personal narrative.
