What projects are you currently working on?
In Croatia we are working on many projects. There are currently several projects in progress, at the construction site stage; Hotel Marjan in Split, Hotel Argentina in Dubrovnik, Bus Terminal in Rijeka, Elementary school in Rijeka. In Italy, Grignano Waterfront near Trieste.
We are working on the development of several residential projects in Zagreb and Rijeka.
What was your favourite project to work on and why?
It is not possible to answer that question unambiguously, since we have worked on 350 projects in 30+ years of our practice. And all projects are different and specific, and that’s how we conceive them from initial idea to realization. To mention few, initial projects like the Memorial Bridge in Rijeka and a small sports hall in Bale and the renovation of the Dance Center in Zagreb, our first hotel Lone in Rovinj, residential complexes like Park K etc.
What was your most challenging project to work on and why?
The answer is almost the same as the answer to the previous question. The challenges of each project are specific, for some it is a sensitive situation in the city, a historical matrix, demanding urban conditions sometimes in a natural protected environment, then there are also technically demanding constructions, materials, etc.
Which products/services could you not live without when designing? E.g. Lighting companies, furniture companies
Our office has been a collaborative practice from the beginning, team-oriented and organized. Each of our projects, from the very beginning to the end, is organized and implemented in a way that serves the team and the project. From the very beginning, we include various collaborators, engineers and designers of all kinds and other various consultants, specialists in certain fields, and they inform us and thus direct the idea and its realization.
What are your aims and goals for the next twelve months?
As in the past 30+ years, to lead all current projects to successful completion and to work on new projects that are now on the table, and progress in every aspect of our practice
