Tell us a little about the company background:
Yellow Addition is a design studio based in Florence founded in 2023. YAD is a multidisciplinary office divided into three different macroareas, Yacht / Architecture / Design, to give to every customer complete support thanks to the various working experiences and the interaction between the different professional skills of employees inside and outside the group. Thanks to the experience gained in yacht design, started since 2010 including production assistance, interior/exterior technical and concept design for several Italian shipyards, the YAD’ s team takes care of the complete design development of sailing and motor yacht driven by the spirit of technical research and innovation helped by the knowledge of the latest software 2D and 3D dedicated to design.

How does your company approach each project from concept to completion?
Yellow Addition is totally committed in the realization of yacht & interior design projects with the aim of transforming each customer dreams and his emotions in new reality that can last a long time. The aim of the studio is find the best balance between technical aspects and emotion to give to each project the best solution in terms of form and function.

Where inspires your company in this sector?
YAD is inspired by everything around us. Contamination is the main aspect of our design approach, looking always to famous architects’ creations and to the history of yachting.
Market change and social habits are very important to choose the right direction of each project.

In what direction do you feel that your projects are moving towards in a general sense?
Our projects are moving to new clients more and more focused on quality of life and healthy way of leaving. Yachts are becoming bigger and bigger but more “responsible” with eco-friendly technical solution (propulsion, production, materials, ecofuel, etc) and more opened to the ocean to emphasise the contact with nature.

Name five key themes to consider when approaching projects in the future. :
Curiosity, Contamination, Emotion, Technical Evolution, Market and Social Habits Evolution.

If your company could offer one piece of advice when it comes to projects, what would it be? :
Be inspired by everything, be corious.

How important are The International Yacht & Aviation Awards?:
Are very important awards which collect a lot of international projects and architect/designers with different approaches and origins, so aren’t only prestigious international awards but also a great opportunity to share opinions and views in a fantastic atmosphere with different professionals.

What projects are you currently working on?:
The Studio is working on several Sanlorenzo projects, and new concept yacht from 30m to 65m for different italian shipyard.

What was one of your company’s key projects to work on and why?
The 1st Benetti FB501 in 2010. A complex work with different technical and design aspect, with a lot of time spent in shipyard with professionals which allow me and my studio to grow in the yachting industry.

What was your company’s most challenging project to work on and why? :
The next one…because we try to improve our skills everyday searching new design solution.

Which products/services could you not live without when completing projects?
Everything! Starting from materials to technical aspect, everything must be in balance to build the entire work. The most important thing around products and services is the person; find the right, gentle, passionate professional who can help you in your work is extremely important.

What are your company’s aims and goals for the next twelve months? :
Grow up in yachting industry with new project, maybe in collaboration with other design studio maybe not…but I hope to be always engaged in new challenges.
