IYA 27
Reviva Refit by Mengi Yay

Reviva Refit by Mengi Yay has completed a full-scope winter refit of Mirabella, a 48-metre Trinity yacht originally built in 2004, combining extensive technical renewal with a considered approach to restoring the vessel’s original character.

Built in aluminium with a semi-displacement hull, Mirabella features naval architecture and exterior lines by Trinity Yachts, with an interior originally designed by Scott Carpenter. Following two decades of Mediterranean service, the yacht remained structurally sound but required a comprehensive refresh, from tired paintwork and outdated electrical and electronic systems to sun-affected joinery and exterior spaces that no longer reflected the expectations of the modern charter market.

Rather than restyling the yacht, Reviva Refit by Mengi Yay set out to return Mirabella to the charter market within a single winter, working to a fixed redelivery date of 15 July 2026. The hull and superstructure were stripped back to bare substrate and repainted in climate-controlled conditions, while clouded veneers were taken back to bare wood, sanded and refinished in a new walnut and chocolate tone. New upholstery, furniture, flooring and marble were introduced alongside a complete galley renewal and new entrance glass featuring an engraved family crest.

Lighting was also completely reconsidered, with renewed interior lighting and substantially enhanced exterior deck illumination changing the yacht’s appearance after dark.

The exterior transformation included a bespoke Jacuzzi integrated into the redesigned sundeck, new seating across the decks and a rebuilt aft seating area combining fixed and loose custom furniture. At the waterline, the swim platform was reconfigured around an integrated transformer, requiring structural modifications to the transom and a purpose-built watertight chamber.

The completed yacht accommodates eleven guests across five staterooms and nine crew, with a top speed of 18 knots and a 3,500-nautical-mile range. Throughout the project, Reviva Refit by Mengi Yay worked with Mirabella’s existing design language rather than replacing it, using each intervention to recover and strengthen the qualities of the original yacht while creating a more contemporary charter experience.
