The International Design & Architecture Awards 2026
Originally conceived as a furnishing project for a dressing room, the commission evolved into a comprehensive renovation of nearly every interior space. The clients, two serial entrepreneurs, entrusted Sarah Stacey Interior Design with full creative freedom, expressing a clear desire for a home that would feel as individual and expressive as they are.
Honouring the property’s Mediterranean roots, the studio curated a composition of custom furnishings, Venetian mirrors, aged copper, and rock crystal chandeliers, alongside finds sourced from Paris flea markets and Texas auction houses. Every detail was chosen for its character, tactility, and ability to patina beautifully over time.
Highlights include a hidden speakeasy concealed behind a British phone booth, a dance hall built around a Jimi Hendrix guitar, and a light-filled kitchen designed for gathering and connection. Throughout, a palette of earthy tones, rich textiles, and natural light softens the architectural scale while maintaining a strong dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
The resulting home feels rooted, authentic, and timeless, a seamless reflection of its owners’ identities and of the Hill Country itself. Every decision was made with intention, balancing beauty, function, and an enduring sense of place.
