Sherwood Design created the Draper Master Ensuite as a refined and immersive private retreat that balances quiet luxury with warmth, softness and timeless liveability. Developed through a long-standing relationship with the client, the design was shaped through ongoing conversations focused not only on aesthetics, but on creating a calming and deeply personal experience for everyday living.

Subtle Art Deco influences informed the composition of the space through the use of curvature, symmetry and proportion. Layered natural materials, brushed brass detailing, warm timber tones and textured finishes create depth and softness throughout the ensuite. A defining feature within the room is the custom vanity crafted from Argyle Pearl Dolomite, an expressive Australian stone featuring warm rose-pink tones layered through dusty whites and creams. Paired with softly curved bespoke joinery, the vanity introduces warmth, sculptural elegance and a strong sense of refinement.

Underfoot, Carrara Tumbled Octagon marble tiles with Rosa marble insets add subtle pattern, texture and tonal richness while reinforcing the restrained Art Deco language carried throughout the master suite. A custom brass-framed reeded glass screen provides privacy and architectural rhythm without compromising openness or natural light, allowing the ensuite to feel seamlessly connected to the adjoining spaces and surrounding landscape.

Lighting was carefully considered to enhance atmosphere and highlight the tonal movement within the materials. Within the shower niche, a reflective decorative mosaic tile softly catches and refracts light throughout the day, creating a subtle sense of glamour and luminosity.

Specialist craftsmanship was integral to the project, including handcrafted joinery, custom brass detailing, hand-rendered blush-toned wall finishes and bespoke wet-area window treatments. The result is a timeless and highly resolved ensuite that feels calm, immersive and deeply personal.
