Sherwood Design created the Draper Master Bedroom as a refined and deeply restful private retreat that balances quiet luxury with warmth, softness and liveability. Developed through an ongoing relationship with the client, the design reflects a highly personal approach centred on how the space would feel to inhabit each day. Subtle Art Deco influences informed the composition through curved forms, symmetry and sculptural detailing, while a restrained palette of warm neutrals, blush undertones and layered textures established a calm and immersive atmosphere.

At the centre of the room, a custom upholstered leather bedhead introduces softness and sculptural presence through its curved silhouette, tactile finish and tailored detailing. Bespoke furniture, sculptural lighting and carefully curated styling reinforce the highly resolved nature of the interior while maintaining restraint and cohesion throughout. Textured wall finishes, soft drapery, brushed brass accents and layered textiles create depth and quiet richness without overwhelming the space.

A defining aspect of the project is the seamless connection between the bedroom, dressing room and ensuite. Repeated materials, tonal layering, reeded textures and brushed brass detailing allow the master wing to unfold as a cohesive and immersive sequence of spaces while maintaining intimacy within each zone. Carefully designed window treatments softly filter natural light throughout the interiors, strengthening the connection between the home and surrounding landscape.

Specialist craftsmanship played a significant role in achieving the refined outcome, including the handcrafted leather bedhead with individually applied brass stud detailing, custom fireplace design and meticulously installed grasscloth wallcoverings. The result is a timeless and deeply personal retreat that feels calm, immersive and quietly luxurious.
