Studio Jencquel positioned the house centrally within the site, allowing the surrounding landscape of mature and newly cultivated trees to envelop the architecture. This deliberate approach creates a rare sense of immersion and privacy, where each room opens directly onto greenery and the outside world recedes from view. The three bedroom suites, oriented to the east, are designed to receive morning light, reinforcing a daily rhythm that connects occupants to the natural environment.
Studio Jencquel constructed the residence entirely from teak, extending this material language across structure, flooring, screens and bespoke furnishings. Within the bedrooms, this consistent use of timber establishes warmth and continuity, while louvred walls and layered roofing systems enable passive cooling and natural ventilation. Each suite is paired with a private bathroom and direct garden access, dissolving traditional boundaries between interior and exterior.
