G House

G House is a comprehensive 355 sqm residential renovation in Bornova, İzmir, originally designed in 2002. Led by interior design firm and architect Studio102 Architecture, the project extends beyond the interiors to encompass the façade and landscape, reimagining the residence as a cohesive architectural transformation.

Studio102 Architecture approached the existing character of the house as a foundation for creating a contemporary home with lasting relevance. Rather than reproducing historical references literally, the design translates their emphasis on proportion, materiality and atmosphere into a refined and timeless residential language.

Functionality and aesthetics were developed as complementary principles throughout the project. Specialist requirements were incorporated from the outset, including a gym designed with fitness expertise and a music room developed around acoustic and technical considerations.

Studio102 Architecture also adopted a highly bespoke approach to furniture, storage and joinery, with the majority of pieces designed specifically for the residence. This ensured that proportion, material and function responded directly to each space and its inhabitants.

The resulting home combines spatial clarity, material richness and understated sophistication, creating a contemporary yet enduring residential environment in which architectural expression, functionality and technical performance operate as a unified design language.
