Project Name: Concept 34

Interior Designer: Soyaslan Design

The Concept 34 is a perfectly balanced use of luxury and functionality in design. Soyaslan Design aimed to reach the comfort level of a 50 Metre Motor Yacht in a 34 Metre Motor Yacht. Due to the economic uncertainty of recent years the designers wanted to offer a more approachable type of luxury without cutting down on the comfort of the owners. Soyaslan Design was founded in 1992 by Turhan Soyaslan who has had a leading role in Turkish shipbuilding industry area since 1980. They provide consulting services for both motor and sailing yachts as well as others. Their company vision is to “create aesthetic, functional, innovative and world-class quality projects which can be shown as a reference.”

Soyalsan Design worked towards a modern and masculine look with current design ideas such as symmetrical balconies on the main saloon and large hemi spherical windows in the owner’s study. The idea was to design a motor yacht that will attract attention that will not only be appreciated by its owner, but also admired by those who see it sailing by.

From a technical perspective, Soyaslan optimized a semi displacement hull that reaches up to 18 knots and added ‘zero speed stabilizers’ for maximum comfort. Soyaslan Design look to keep up with current design trends so as to offer timeless designs that are always one step ahead of other companies. After analysing the shifting market, they foresee balancing luxury and comfort with the size of the boat will prove a very welcome prospect for both current and future yacht owners, with designs such as their Concept 34 providing a solution to an ever more challenging market.
