Product Name: White Carbon Fibre Lounge Tub Chair

With an increasing requirement for lightweight and durable interior and exterior furniture, Gosling Marine focuses on pushing the boundaries of the use of carbon fibre. With its unique property of strength-to-weight ratio, resistance to corrosion and maintenance free, carbon fibre is a welcome move forward from the more bulky teak and echoes the key elements of Gosling’s client’s design brief.

The Gosling Lounge Tub Chair was designed for the interior, with the potential to provide additional deck furniture. Art Deco architecture and the luxury liners of the 1930’s inspire the strong, fluid ergonomic design and exquisite detailing. The polished, marine grade stainless steel lines around the chair reflect the technique of architectural quoins used in buildings. The combination of cool to the touch carbon fibre, with the more tactile teak arms gives the chair a modern look with a hint of the classical. The piece is upholstered in the Sunbrella marine grade fabric and works beautifully with the external collection of Gosling Marine deck pieces.

A favourite aspect of the project was the challenge to push the boundary of the use of carbon fibre in furniture design and to incorporate it with the more traditional teak. The ergonomic design incorporates Art Deco architectural detail on a small scale.
The Lounge Tub Chair is an iconic shape, with historical inspiration but a very modern, ergonomic, striking interpretation.
