Planet 9 is a 73-Meter explorer motor yacht with a helideck and under-deck hangar, five VIP Guest Suites and one full-deck Master Suite.

The client gave no brief “per se”; but since Tino Zervudachi had worked on many projects together, including a 47metre yacht refit, it “pretty much” was understood what needed to be achieved and so it was clear that the boat had to be extremely comfortable, but also masculine and streamlined.

The client wanted Tino Zervudachi to create a living space more like that of a home than your typical explorer superyacht. It was key that Tino Zervudachi avoided any typical yacht clichés – so you won’t find any marble floors or gold-plated taps onboard. The owner wanted a young, contemporary classic design that would be timeless and unusual, and therefore would not feel dated in a few years’ time.

The very spacious and comfortable Owner’s Suite occupies the entire Main Deck, creating a large space to live in and make your own away from the rest of the yacht. The VIP Suite on the Wheelhouse Deck below is the real favourite of all the cabins. It is smaller, of course, but cosier, with a dressing room and en-suite bathroom. And the real draw is its own private aft deck, complete with sofa-style sun pads and an intimate dining area.

Spacious quarters in all cabins with all the amenities and no superfluous gadgets, an understated elegance with an easy and relaxed atmosphere (but not too casual) make for an unforgettable experience on board. As designers working in all fields of interior design, Tino Zervudachi particularly enjoy the challenge of yacht design as it pushes the limits, so it is edifying to have recognition from industry experts.
