The LUNA Chairs are a construction that showcase the individuality of Sollands’ design, as well as demonstrating the skill of true British Craftsmanship.

It was imperative that the LUNA Chairs be adaptable in order to satisfy a key requirement of their company which was to produce distinct, innovative, individual pieces for designers and clients. Additionally, the chair had to be comfortable, as the team had to consider the different variables of height and size of their clients.

Solland’s decided on a generous curved back that would embrace the sitter, rather than chair arms, further establishing a fully upholstered seat rather than a seat cushion, as this would remain neat when the sitter stood up. 

The width, depth and height of the chair, including the seat height were all fine tuned. Additionally, the chair was designed to receive a small back cushion if desired, while the elegant curved back recalled the crescent of the moon, inspiring the choice of the name LUNA for the chair. Three LUNA G chairs have been produced; the first with an intricate pixelated design on the outside back, the second dressed with brass studs, and the third with a fun mix of velvet and dyed sheepskin upholstery.
