An elegant, refined and powerful composite hull with sharp lines cutting the water and making the shipyard’s vision a reality. It was a stimulating challenge for Acube Design to materialise with passion and hard work an idea that allowed them to run high speed themes throughout all aspects of the project, design and subsequent creation. AB 80 was designed and built with the collaboration of Alessandro Greco of the AB Yacht Technical and Style department. The brief was to design a sporty, dynamic, aggressive yacht in line with the powerful two MJP waterjets plus a central booster, that allows this vessel to reach almost 60 knots.

The design objective was to enhance the sporty features with cutting edge new sharp lines on the hull and a complete modernization of AB Yachts stylistic “gills” elements on the superstructure, which are a distinctive symbol of the whole range and to strike a perfect balance between interior and exterior space. The aim for Acube Design was to create a profile that has a fast-moving feeling even when the boat is anchored or docked.

The hull has some stylistics elements that give movement, such as the windows running along the entire sides and the cut in the aft side that gives continuity between outdoor and indoor. The fast yacht has been designed to provide those on board with the nearest proximity to the water by giving them a 360-degree view through the large glass windows, in order to satisfy the innate human affinity for nature. Nowadays people need to reconnect themselves with nature, with the sea, with natural light and the vessel meets those needs.

The aim of the Acube Design team together with the AB Yacht Design and Engineering department is to achieve performance in total comfort. You could compare this vessel to a shark – it integrates perfectly into its surrounding ambience of the wide-open sea. It is elegant yet aggressive when required, it can attack the water when the throttle is pushed to the limit.
