Shipyard: Damen Yachting – Amels

MY MOONSTONE is a 60 metre yacht which features custom interiors by Luxury Projects Studio (LP), who was asked to develop an interior design concept by Damen Yachting for the Amels 200. MY MOONSTONE has been an amazing experience for Luxury Projects as it was a yacht designed from scratch.

By using loose furniture as much as possible and very little fixed furniture, the interior was adapted to the tastes of the “Final Client”, as one of the main requests in the Shipyard’s brief was “the possibility of during build customization for the end user”. From creating a concept for a yacht build on speculation, trying to imagine and create the best interior selling points to the new Owners and selecting all bespoke Luxury Projects (LP) designed loose furniture, lights, linens, accessories delivered in less than four months. It was a real challenge, however with excellent teamwork and great project managing, with their dedicated Italian Suppliers and Artisan Workshops, Luxury Projects realized an on time delivery, and installation with astonishing quality. It’s amazing what was achieved in such a short time, the result is all that they could have dreamed of.

Excellence in innovative materials were utilised throughout. In terms of material choices, innovation, played a huge role in the choices and matching colours for MY MOONSTONE. This translated to the use of several special materials and finishes, which have also been used to create the element of surprise and bring a sense of life to the interior.

Luxury Projects also looked at their own heritage and mixed some great materials from the past (as straw marquetry for the green Bridge Deck Salon Cabinet) with state-of-the-art modern materials (as “vetrite”), for example in the decorative panels in furniture and staircase “origami” walls.

In collaboration with fine Italian Artisans, Luxury Projects created a number of unique and innovating materials (a process which required several tests, samples and mock-ups to reach the perfect required finish and effect) as a resin featuring “melted in” metals shades/textile with a 3D effect (Staircase Lobby Panels) and another standout innovation is the innovative “vetrite” glass by SICIS. The general idea was to use light colours in contrast with dark and to create a feeling that was neither too bare nor too rich. Playing with materials from the ancient past and near future and influences from different cultures worked especially well.
