SABDES Design has unveiled the BC80, a pioneering 80-foot aluminium expedition catamaran that reimagines the potential of compact yacht design. Developed in collaboration with Bering Yachts, the BC80 is a bold statement in innovation, combining the robust capability of an explorer yacht with the luxury and space of a much larger vessel. With a gross tonnage of 320 GT—comparable to that of a 130-foot monohull—the BC80 offers an exceptional onboard experience in a more efficient, versatile package.

Built entirely from high-strength aluminium, the BC80 is not only durable and customisable but also environmentally conscious. Aluminium’s recyclability and lighter weight contribute to improved efficiency and a more sustainable lifecycle. Designed with exploration in mind, the vessel boasts a transoceanic range of over 4,000 nautical miles and a shallow draft, allowing it to reach remote destinations such as the Caribbean’s more secluded anchorages.

Powered by twin 700hp engines, the BC80 comfortably cruises at 8 knots with the option to reach up to 12 knots. Optional engine upgrades are available for those seeking enhanced performance. A hybrid propulsion system is also offered, enabling silent, emissions-free departures from marinas and minimal disruption when navigating environmentally sensitive waters.

The BC80’s three-deck layout makes exceptional use of space. Its innovative tiered foredeck includes forward accommodation areas for crew and storage, while the tunnel above houses vast technical and utility spaces. The interior is equally considered, with layout options for four, five, or six staterooms, each with separate crew quarters, ensuring flexibility without compromising comfort or privacy.

Inside, the yacht offers the level of refinement expected from SABDES Design—sleek, modern lines paired with warm, inviting materials. The result is a vessel that feels both luxurious and purpose-built for adventure.
