Shortlisted: Motor Yacht Over 60 Metres Award

The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2026

Admiral Yachts have been shortlisted for Motor Yacht Over 60 Metres Award in The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2026.

Admiral Yachts has launched Admiral Armani 72m, a fully custom 72-metre superyacht that brings architectural discipline, material restraint and Italian craftsmanship together under a singular and highly controlled design vision. The project was conceived with the ambition of translating Giorgio Armani’s distinctive aesthetic language into a complete yachting environment, realised as a coherent spatial system rather than a collection of individual spaces.

From the outset, the collaboration between Giorgio Armani, the Armani/Casa design team and Admiral Centro Stile established a shared design vocabulary rooted in essential forms, disciplined geometries and a refined approach to surfaces. Interior and exterior are treated as a continuous narrative, shaped by proportion, rhythm and restraint, with every decision guided by principles of coherence, balance and visual clarity.

Material selection plays a defining role in the yacht’s identity. Timber finishes such as Canaletto walnut, paulownia and lacquered panels were chosen to convey warmth, depth and continuity, while the extensive use of cannettage and complex concave and convex surfaces introduces subtle architectural tension. These elements demanded exceptional precision in execution, ensuring technical rigour without compromising the overall sense of calm.

The interiors are conceived to cultivate a measured relationship between light, volume and material. Large architectural glass surfaces soften the boundary between interior spaces and the surrounding seascape, allowing light and horizon to become integral components of life on board. Furniture, textiles and decorative elements supplied by Armani/Casa are integrated into the architecture itself, reinforcing a unified lifestyle concept rather than standing apart as decorative additions.

The yacht’s naval structure supports generous, fluid volumes that encourage conviviality and an open relationship with the sea, while also providing the owner with complete privacy within a master suite designed as a serene continuation of the surrounding landscape. In the guest cabins, inclined glazed surfaces allow daylight to filter from above, enriching the quality of interior light and strengthening the connection to the seascape.

The defining strength of Admiral Armani 72m lies in the seamless alignment between design intent and execution. Guided by Giorgio Armani’s disciplined approach to form, proportion and material, the yacht offers expansive yet composed interiors that feel enduring, relevant and free from stylistic excess, ensuring a calm and effortless experience on board.
