Autoban has crafted a distinctive design narrative for BIJAL, a new ultra-luxury resort on the Turkish Mediterranean coast launched by the creators of Joali Maldives and Joali Being. With 19 private villas nestled within Antalya’s pine forests, the design approach balances sophistication with playful elegance, reflecting the resort’s philosophy of “where luxury and play unite”.
The studio approached BIJAL as an opportunity to develop a unique identity that remains authentic to its setting while honouring the refined spirit of its sister properties. Drawing inspiration from Mediterranean landscapes and local craftsmanship, Autoban used natural materials, golden neutral tones and layered textures to evoke a sense of fluidity, warmth and ease. A hallmark of the project is its emotional and sensory depth, achieved through biophilic principles, sculptural forms and handcrafted details.
Architecture and interiors work in harmony to blur the boundary between built space and nature. Roof canopies curve like folded paper, timber doors are hand-carved with wave motifs, and wood panels slant softly to reflect light throughout the day. Organic forms, round volumes and textured surfaces create a soothing, tactile environment.
Communal spaces such as the ClubHouse and BeachHouse are open and sunlit, encouraging both connection and retreat. The design also reflects Turkish heritage through subtle craftsmanship and a focus on comfort and scale.
With BIJAL, Autoban has realised a holistic and contextually rooted resort experience that offers both refinement and discovery. The result is a destination where architecture converses with the landscape, and every detail reflects laid-back Mediterranean luxury.
