BAZ Yacht Design has recently completed a major interior refit and added a new hardtop to the fly-deck of M/S North Star, showcasing their ability to transform yachts into personalized, modern, and sophisticated vessels.

The journey began when the owners fell in love with the motorsailer during their charter tour in the summer of 2022. However, the yacht’s interior, characterized by black, white, yellow, and wavy decors on the walls, did not align with their personal style. Furthermore, the regular bimini with chrome bars on the flybridge was not meeting their expectations. Instead, they desired a modern and chromatic look with light tones and soft blue and greenish details.

Given the green light for the design process in January 2023, the team at BAZ Yacht Design faced a tight timeline to complete the project by June, ensuring the owners could enjoy their newly transformed yacht during the summer season. Rather than opting for massive structural changes, they decided to focus on “covering” existing walls, bulkheads, panels, and cupboards, making sure to maintain the vessel’s weight balance and stability.

One of the standout features of the design is the sophisticated and straightforward approach to the walls of the stairs and the dining area in the salon. The overall success of the design can be attributed to the excellent and intensive communication between BAZ Yacht Design, the owners, their representative, and the management company. This close collaboration ensured that the interior and exterior design of M/S North Star was transformed into the owners’ dream yacht within a limited timeframe.
