HOTEL UNDER 50 ROOMS – EUROPE: WINNER
Parador de León 5* Gran Lujo by Merry Design Studio
This project involved comprehensive reform of the buildings, demolition and remodelling of most of the spaces, except those with historical significance that were preserved in their essence. More than 600 pieces of furniture have been recovered and more than 500 works of art.
Merry Design Studio have opted for the luxury of simplicity without fanfare but instead with the quality materials through original Spanish designs, which are respectful to the environment and that value the good work and innovation of Spanish suppliers. The designers tried to integrate a project that connects with the city of León – for the people who will enjoy it the most.
HOTEL OVER 200 ROOMS – EUROPE: WINNER
Crowne Plaza Warsaw Hub by Tremend & Ghelamco Poland
The Crowne Plaza Hotel for the Warsaw HUB building in the Wola district of Warsaw is a hotel that reflects the vibrant and bustling city. The common areas are lively, full of colour, and eclectic.
When working on this project, Tremend wanted to create a place that would be strongly connected with Warsaw. Respect for the environment is manifested by references to nature and a conscious choice of finishing materials. Their main inspiration was the Vistula River with its wild nature, but were also inspired by the vibrant city centre itself. The design of Crowne Plaza embodies the bustling city life. The interiors are diverse and colourful, characterised by a wealth of finishing materials and exceptional attention to detail.
HOTEL SUITE – GLOBAL: WINNER
The Harrods Suite, Cala di Volpe Hotel by Harrods Interior Design
This was a special opportunity to amalgamate two iconic brands, combining Hotel Cala Di Volpe’s Sardinian Indigenous luxury with Harrods excellence.
Each design feature reinterprets ideas of comfort and grandeur; the soft curving edges of the walls combine with the atmospheric hidden lighting design, simultaneously luxurious materials, such as bronze textured glass and burnished finishes, create depth and warmth. Interior highlights include the marble herringbone flooring paired with hand cut mosaic tiling for the en-suites, a striking fluted limestone feature wall reminiscent of interior columns in Harrods, sculptural bespoke pieces, and glass artworks throughout.
