THDP MAKE THE 2021 SHORTLIST

THDP have been shortlisted for Spa – Global Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2021. 

The  resort,  founded in 1919, has just turned 100 years old, and is located to the nearby Gorello Water Falls, both forming one of the most unique spa complexes in the world, for the spectacular  geological dynamic conformation of the waters, which flow from the crater and end up in gentle waterfalls with shallow natural shallow pools. The design of this important project was entrusted to a team of professionals specialized in different specific skills, all with backgrounds of experience suitable for different roles.  The THDP studio, based in London and Turin and with an international background,  carried out the interior project, with architect Manuela Mannino, Nicholas Hickson and the collaboration of Architect Francesca Benedetti, during two years of renovations.

DAY STUDIO LONDON – 2020 RESTAURANT EUROPE WINNER

Day Studio London have been shortlisted for Restaurant – Europe Award in The International Hotel and Property Awards 2020. 

The client asked Day Studio London to create a welcoming inclusive space which was to the second outpost of their very popular London restaurant Padella in Borough Market. In a modern unreconstructed a double height shell, it was bathed in daylight from imposing windows, with a mood that changes not just through the seasons but almost hourly. The original was so popular they had to be careful not to create anything that suggested a dilution or repetition of the original venue.

DESIGNER PROFILE: ROISIN REILLY ASSOCIATE OF B3 DESIGNERS

Tell us a little about your background in design (education, experience, etc)
After studying Interior Design at the Glasgow School of Art, I moved to London where I worked in retail design for four years, before finding hospitality design. I’m not big on shopping, but will go out of my way to both have and create experiences. I find so much joy in designing spaces where memories can be made. I have been fortunate to work on a range of projects – from the street-food style of Bone Daddies, to high-end projects for The Ritz-Carlton and The Prince Akatoki London.

How would you describe your personal interior design style?
On a personal level, I am drawn to the Nordic style and well-crafted furniture, often with mid-century touches. I believe a home should be comfortable and look lived-in, never looking like an immaculate show home. I prefer a well thought-out minimal space – I’m not a fan of busyness or clutter. The challenge however, is to keep the space from feeling sterile or uninviting. The trick is to bear in mind that everything should have a purpose or tell a story of an experience you’ve had or place you’ve visited.
