Charlotte Conway Design has masterfully transformed an open-plan living space into the luxurious heart of a home, seamlessly blending contemporary style with the building’s architectural integrity. The new design flows effortlessly from the grand entrance hall into a welcoming living and dining area, creating a practical yet opulent environment.

The living space is designed for both everyday living and special occasions. The snug area is tailored for family pets and teenagers, making it both practical and comfortable. The dining area is casual enough for daily use yet sophisticated, while the kitchen is both contemporary and social. A key challenge was integrating the large expanse of glass at the back of the house and ensuring a smooth transition from indoor to outdoor flooring.

Illuminated tray ceiling details, combined with feature pendants and a chandelier, add dramatic flair to the space. The Venetian plastered arches from the hall are echoed in the bespoke coffee station cabinetry, maintaining a consistent design language throughout. The media wall, with its luxurious yet subtle design, complements the kitchen without overpowering it.

Initially, the client wanted a Siematic kitchen, but it felt too stark against the rest of the house. To address this, Charlotte Conway Design created a unique framed detail with a porcelain worktop around the cabinetry, extending this material to the coffee station and media wall for cohesion. A brass island detail with a ribbed base softens the rectangular island and reflects the architectural arches from the hall.

The central coffee station balances the kitchen with the snug area, and armchairs at the opposite end of the table offer views of the garden and golf course. The media wall incorporates brass elements from the breakfast bar into the bespoke cabinetry design, with a metallic vinyl backing for added softness.

A textured, neutral-toned rug adds comfort and glamour, making the space cozy. The cream sofa, upholstered in fibre guard material, ensures practicality without sacrificing luxury. Artwork reflecting the surroundings brings depth and colour to the plain plastered walls. A large fireplace adds drama and a focal point, balancing the sizable TV screen above.

Entering through the arched front door, visitors are greeted by arched openings flanking the black marble staircase, leading into the expansive open-plan living space. Turning back to face the arches, the centrally located coffee station echoes these curvaceous details, creating a harmonious flow from the moment one steps through the front door to the moment they leave. Charlotte Conway Design has successfully created a space that is both a luxurious retreat and a functional family hub.
