Comar Yachts

Comar Yachts has unveiled the C-Cat 65, a high performance maxi sailing catamaran conceived to unite advanced technology, offshore safety, family comfort and true sporting capability in a single, refined platform. Drawing on more than fifty years of boatbuilding heritage and thousands of yachts delivered worldwide, the project reflects the accumulated knowledge of sailors and engineers with extensive sea miles behind them.

The C-Cat 65 is the result of a collaborative effort led by Comar Yachts’ technical office, with contributions from multihull specialist Enrico Contreas, Marco Amadio and his design studio, and Naval Design, responsible for structural calculations, FEM verification and CFD simulations. More than 4,500 hours of design and 40,000 hours of skilled craftsmanship have gone into creating a catamaran that prioritises sailing performance without sacrificing liveability or safety.

Carbon fibre plays a defining role throughout the yacht, applied precisely where it delivers the greatest benefit. A full carbon deck reduces weight aloft and lowers the centre of gravity, while carbon daggerboards, crossbeams, bowsprit, bulkheads and structural components deliver exceptional torsional rigidity and responsiveness. A pre-preg carbon mast further enhances lightness and aerodynamic control, while carbon glass composite hulls balance stiffness, durability and performance under load.

The structure is built using a double cut Corecell sandwich infused with epoxy resin via advanced vacuum infusion processes, achieving an outstanding weight to stiffness ratio and consistent structural integrity. Centralised weight distribution minimises pitching and improves comfort, while every element is engineered to contribute to overall rigidity, including the furniture.

Visually and spatially, the C-Cat 65 presents a modern, minimalist aesthetic with seamless continuity between hull, deck and interior. A single level cockpit and saloon create the feeling of a true terrace on the sea. The coachroof features forward facing reverse rake glazing inspired by professional explorer vessels, enhancing visibility, reducing solar reflection and improving thermal comfort.

Dual helm stations complete the concept, with an external position offering full sail and course visibility, and an internal helm providing protected control in rough conditions. The result is a catamaran that does not simply sail, but engages with the sea, translating every shift of wind into controlled, exhilarating motion.
