DBM Studio created Isabel Mayfair Abu Dhabi as an immersive hospitality destination where design, art, atmosphere and storytelling combine to create a memorable guest experience. Inspired by the character of Isabel, confident, elegant, enigmatic and sophisticated, the project was conceived as more than a restaurant. It was designed as a complete world, with every detail contributing to a distinct sense of identity and emotional connection.

The studio developed a layered design narrative expressed through bespoke craftsmanship, carefully curated materiality and commissioned artistic interventions. Hand-embroidered silk wall panels, three-dimensional embroidered artworks, hand-painted wallpapers, sculptural floral installations and bespoke brass features were created exclusively for the project, transforming art into a storytelling medium rather than decoration. Each piece was designed to reveal different aspects of Isabel’s personality while enriching the guest journey.

Rich materials including polished brass, Calacatta Viola marble, dark oak and luxurious velvets reinforce the restaurant’s atmosphere of warmth, sophistication and understated luxury. A dramatic sculptural bar and ceiling installation form the focal point of the venue, celebrating craftsmanship while anchoring the social energy of the space.

Located within The Galleria on Al Maryah Island, the project successfully bridges Isabel’s London heritage with Abu Dhabi’s luxury hospitality landscape. DBM Studio carefully reinterpreted the brand for its new context, creating a destination that feels internationally recognised while remaining relevant to its surroundings.

The success of Isabel lies in the seamless integration of architecture, art, branding, hospitality and atmosphere. Through exceptional collaboration with artisans and specialist craftsmen, DBM Studio delivered a timeless and highly bespoke destination with a strong sense of character and lasting presence.
