Esra Kazmirci Mimarlik shaped this garden duplex in Balmumcu, Besiktas, as a calm and refined home defined by generous volumes, architectural clarity and seamless spatial flow. Completed in 2025 within a contemporary residential development, the 430 sqm residence, with an additional 250 sqm of private garden and terraces, offered strong foundations including high ceilings, direct garden access and a clear division between public and private zones.

The entrance level was conceived as an open and fluid living environment, bringing together the main social spaces, including the living room and kitchen, alongside service areas. The lower floor forms a more intimate domain, housing bedrooms and family spaces to ensure privacy while maintaining continuity throughout the home. The master suite unfolds as a continuous sequence where sleeping, dressing and bathing areas connect effortlessly.

Materiality was central to the design language. Natural textures, layered surfaces and carefully proportioned wood panelling introduce warmth and rhythm while preserving architectural clarity. The aim was balance rather than perfection, creating interiors that feel composed yet welcoming. Lighting was integrated architecturally, with recessed ceiling illumination for softness, concealed linear lighting to enhance depth and material transitions, and select sculptural fixtures for focus.
