F/List has introduced a significant advancement in aircraft interior materials with the unveiling of the first wood-veneered surface to achieve full heat release compliance. This breakthrough enables the integration of genuine wood finishes into commercial premium cabins while meeting the strict aviation standards set out in FAR 25.853, covering heat release, smoke density, and vertical burn performance.
Unlike synthetic surfaces or printed imitations, the new veneer offers visual depth, tangible warmth, and even a delicate natural scent, elevating the onboard environment through an authentic connection to natural materiality. By creating a fully qualified veneer–substrate–finish system, F/List has addressed the longstanding challenge of bringing real wood safely into commercial aviation, allowing designers and airlines to specify true wood species that align with regional identity or tailored interior narratives.
