Harrods Interior Design

Harrods Interior Design has unveiled its latest project, a grand three-bedroom family home designed to celebrate British heritage with contemporary references, nestled within the prestigious OWO development. Located in a grade II listed building, the OWO stands as a pinnacle of luxury design, offering 85 private residences and the renowned Raffles Hotel after a six-year transformation.

The brief for this project was to create a tranquil and welcoming environment that encapsulated the beauty of traditional British design. Drawing inspiration from the historical features of the property, such as the original antique mosaic tiles, Harrods Interior Design crafted a design scheme that captured the distinguished and classic character of the home. Furniture pieces were carefully selected to celebrate exemplary British craftsmanship, harmonizing with the client’s admiration for British history.

To infuse the space with modernity, statement fabrics and textures were chosen for the reception and dining area, contrasting with the traditional architectural elements of the home. The personal study, adorned with a leather desk featuring Harrods green suede draw inserts, serves as a sanctuary for our client, with gold details enriching the dark palette and adding a layer of refinement. The minimal styling with subtle references to the client’s interests maintains the calming atmosphere of the design brief.

In the bedrooms, the design narrative draws inspiration from the Edwardian era, with the principal bedroom featuring custom chinoiserie silk wall panels adorned with graceful florals. The second bedroom exudes a youthful, feminine charm, layered in pink tones inspired by an English garden.

A highlight of the project is the restored features from the original war offices, including exquisite antique mosaic floor tiles discovered during renovation. These tiles, meticulously crafted and in pristine condition, add a touch of grandeur to the entrance hall, serving as a reminder of the historic significance of the space.

Throughout the home, Harrods Interior Design remained true to the design brief, employing creative ways to pay homage to British design and create a welcoming atmosphere for the client and their family, culminating in a harmonious blend of heritage and modernity.
