Poised along the embankment of London’s River Thames, Apartment 20 unveils itself as a meticulously designed interior, curated to engage with the panoramic views of the cityscape. The interior narrative weaves urban town house and country home together into one distinctive design.

Within the confines of this luxurious residence, the reception area makes tribute to rural dwellings through the selection of bleached oak and burnt walnut.  Herringbone flooring sit alongside handmade papered walls, adding layers of intricacy to the spatial composition. Woven sisal and wicker elements reflect the work of artisans and celebrate the era of handmade crafts. Soft feather filled sofas with skirted linen covers offer relaxed yet elegant seating with idyllic views of the river. Accents of soft blush pinks and oyster add a gentle touch of warmth to the neutral interior. This pastoral opulence extends into the principal bedroom where woven cane and warm woods sit within translucent, undulating window treatments. Eclectic artifacts and objects were carefully curated to pay homage to our client’s story.

The architectural dialogue repeats in the remaining spaces, echoing Victorian town houses. Walls are panelled in deep heritage hues, and opulent window treatments embrace the more intimate spaces of the study and bedroom. The colours chosen by Honky add a sense of richness, elegance, and historical charm to the contemporary space. Skilfully blending the old with the new to create a unique interior that pays homage to the past, whilst embracing the present. The result is an interior expressing two distinctive homes; fusing them together into one coherent interior design scheme.

Blending the essence of both town and country properties into a single design requires a thoughtful approach to merge contrasting aesthetics. Incorporating elements that evoke the sophistication of town living alongside the rustic charm and tranquillity of the countryside.
